  1. My best Halloween moment was when I was about ten years old. Friends of our family make this amazing haunted house every year and raise money for cancer. One of the years we went they had improved their haunted house and made it bigger and scarier. We drove out to go see it and when we got there it look pretty cool. I went in with my dad and my older sister because my brother was too scared to go in. We went in and honestly I've never been more petrified in my life. I don't really know what was in it because the entire time I had my dad's coat on my head I was holding on to him screaming. the scary part was that it was really well done and all the actors in it looked so fake then they would jump out at you and chase you without stopping. The worst part was the end when the dad of my friend jumped out and grabbed my ankle and pulled me back in. It was terrifying but so much fun and a great memory!!!

    1. That sound like such a great time. It must have been really scary for you because ten years ago would have made you about 4! I wish that I could go into a haunted house like that, but even now I would probably be too scared (like your brother).

    2. That sounds like a blast! Personally, haunted houses creep me out, but sometimes being scared is fun. It's always more exciting to have some fear and adventure on Halloween, which is why I hope you'll remember that Halloween for years to come.

  2. On the subject of Halloween there is just so much to say. I mean it’s probably the most anticipated holiday for all of the kids in the world (except maybe those allergic to candy, that must really suck). Anyways, with such a great holiday come a lot of good memories and some not so good ones. My best and worst Halloween memory has got to be the year that my mom refused to take my sister and I out for trick or treating. It was approximately 2007. My sister and I had recently got into a huge fight over something absolutely stupid (a.k.a), the bathtub. So my mom refused to takes us out because she was so fed up with our behavior. My dad is usually the one who stays behind and gives out candy while watching hockey or football. But he ended up taking us out to trick or treat because of our endless pleas. Even though the night started badly, my dad, my sister and I had a blast. However that was the first and last time that my dad took us out trick or treating, go figure?

    1. My parents get fed up of me and my sister arguing ALL THE TIME!!! I can totally understand her frustration, but I think that it's a little unreasonable not taking you trick-or-treating.

  3. Every year I look forward to this holiday, and there are always great memories that come out of it. But one year in particular stood out from the rest. In 2010, my family decided to go to the US for Halloween weekend. At first, I was kind of bummed out since I’d miss Halloween, but when I found out why we were going I changed my mind. That year, we celebrated ‘Malloween’, meaning we shopped till we dropped all weekend at some great malls in New York. As much as I enjoyed candy, I much preferred all of the clothes I got and spending time with my family on our little road trip. We created this new tradition that we followed almost every October since and even though we are not going this year, I will always cherish those memories I made with my family on ‘Malloween’.

    2. I would do the same if I got to go the US for Halloween. Even though so one thing that I love in life is candy, I would drop it all to go shop in New York.

  4. One of my favorite Halloweens was one where I went with four other friends. One of them was a Christmas present, one was Santa Clause, There was a leprechaun, and me. My friend who was a present actually wore a box over his body. He dropped his candy and couldn't pick it up because he was too big. The high-light though was when while he was trying to pick his candy up, my friend Santa Clause pushed him on the ground and because he had a box on him he couldn't get up. It was mean, but also the most hilarious thing I have ever seen. We helped him up but for a full 2 minutes we all couldn't breathe we were laughing so hard. That is one of my favorite Halloween memories and while it' fun to hang out with family on the holidays, sometimes it is more fun to go with your friends.

  5. Automne has always been my favorite season, and it's not only for the amazing weather, it's because of halloween! I love dressing up like something scary or funny, I find it's so much fun. My best memory was when me and my best friend (at the time) dressed up as "annoying oranges". We went trick or treating together that night, and even went in a haunted house. In the haunted house, my friend got really scared and accidentally kicked one of the people who was supposed to scare us. He ended up getting scared of us. That night we all separated our candy and gave each other what we didn't like. We stayed up all night talking and eating our candy. It was so much fun, although the next day we were so tired!

    1. I also love spending time with my friends on halloween. I find it funny how you scared the person who was supposed to scare you. Sounds like you had as lot of fun and being tired the next day is so worth it.

  6. Every year Halloween is always so much fun but if I could choose my favorite it would be the Halloween two years ago. I came home from school and my family and I went to Laronde to go into the haunted houses, it was super packed and there were actors everywhere dressed as zombies and vampires. The makeup was so amazing and it was fun taking pictures with them. The haunted houses were very scary and the whole set up was so cool. One room made you feel like you were turning upside down and I kept falling. After I went to my friend’s house and we ate Harvey’s and went tricker treating. We came back and stuffed our faces with candy. Then we watched a scary movie and I went home. It was a lot of fun spending time with my family and friend.

  7. My favorite Halloween memory was around 6 years ago when I went trick or treating with a friend at his house. While walking around the neighborhood, many things happened. First of all we were one of the first people out so while walking up to someones house we saw a guy look outside, scream and then rip off his doorbell then locked his doors and shut the lights. At another house, there was a bowl full of candy where it says take one. Therefore, we took the bowl then dumped it in our bags. While we were doing that, someone screamed from the bushes to put the candy back. Then a man came out of the bushes and then dumped some of our candy back in the bowl and then told us to leave. We guessed that the man was trying to scare kids but it was pretty random and funny when a random person came out of the bush dressed like a skeleton. Many other things happened that night but we spent most of the night laughing at how much people got scared of us little kids and how random it was when the man came out of the bushes.

    1. That sounds like quite an eventful Halloween you had there. Also that must have been funny to see the guy come out of the bushes because his idea of scaring you failed.

  8. My best Halloween memory would have to be when I was 10. My friend had a huge Halloween party and we all are a bunch of Halloween themed food such as black spaghetti and blood fruit punch. We went trick or treating for a long time and I got the most candy I had ever gotten before. We then went to a haunted house and it was my first time going to one! It was so fun and scary. When we got home we ate a bunch of candy then we played with an ouija board. Her dad pretended to be a ghost and I remember being very scared! That was by far my favorite Halloween memory!

  9. The best Halloween moment I have ever experienced is a couple of years ago, when I was 12 years old. My brother steven and I went over to my cousins house to spend halloween together with them. This was a special and memorable moment to me because it seemed like the perfect few hours. We were constantly laughing and walking to different houses collecting candy. Afterwards we headed back home to relax and eat some supper with my grandparents, which was pretty cool because our whole family was there and we got to spend lots of time together. I had a great time with them because we are so alike and its so easy to get along with them. The best moments for me are the ones that are the most enjoyed.

  10. I love Halloween! I love the costumes, the decorations, the scares and of course all the candy! My favorite Halloween would probably be the one back in elementary school when I went to a Halloween party. I had not gone to many Halloween parties so I was really looking forward to this one and it did not let me down! There was a haunted house in the basement, mysterious substances that you had to put your hand in and guess what it was and all the chocolate you could eat. As if that wasn't enough, the party ended early so by the time I got home, there was still optimal time for trick or treating with my little brother! That Halloween was so much fun, I got to spend time with friends and family, what could be better?

    1. That's a lot of fun! I remember when I was in grade 6, we turned our classroom into a haunted house, and I was in charge of making people stick their hand through a hole to touch the mysterious items.

  11. I'm not really a fan of Halloween, but I was a few years ago when I saw Selena Gomez in concert at the Bell Centre. Selena Gomez was my idol in grade 5. When I found out that she was coming to Montreal to preform, I was ecstatic. She just happened to be preforming on the night of Halloween, which made everything 10 times better. I wouldn't usually go trick-or-treating when I was in grade 5, so it was the perfect timing. That was one of the best nights ever. I went dressed up as Bat girl (that's what she wanted her fans to do), and I danced and sang to all her songs. I will never forget that night.

  12. Okay... this might sound a bit creepy, but it was probably one of the funniest experiences during all of my Halloweens. So basically, about 3 years ago, my cousins and I were trick-or-treating together (like every other year), and we realised that there were a group of teenagers in front of us going from house to house, and it seemed as if we were following them. To make things interesting, we decided to say everything and do everything identical to them. Every time they were at a house, and were talking to each other waiting for the door to open, we'd always repeat what they say and act all casual. We followed them the entire night. We could tell they were "creeped" out, and finally, they turned around and asked us what we were doing. And to our surprise, the teenagers were our other cousins. We all laughed about it, and remembered the memory ever since!

  13. My best Halloween memory was when I was 8 years old. That was the first time that I went without my mom. I was with my brother, my sisters and a few friends. The reason that I remember this one so fondly is because that was the year that I got two pillow cases full. The best part about that was that it was all good candy, except for that occasional candy that was opened. I think that I had so much fun on that Halloween because I was with family and friends, and I also had the best costume ever, a cow.
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, but I find that each year you get less and less candy.

  14. My best halloween memory was probably last year where my friend and I both dressed up as creepy dolls. I usually don't go fullout on Halloween with makeup and things like that but last year, my friend and I just went full out. It took about 3 hours to do makeup. While we were trick-or-treating, we scared so many parents and kids and it was pretty fun!My friend and I had so much fun scaring people and just eating a crap load of candy. We got so much candy, but we found it so funny because this mom got really mad at us for scaring her kid but we didn't really know what to say so we just ignored her. Overall, Halloween is one of my favorite days of the year with all the scary movies, candy, autumn and just everything is amazing about Halloween!

  15. My favorite Halloween memory was in grade 7 when me and a few friends stayed out really late trick or treating until around 12:00. After 10:30 the majority of the houses we went to started giving us a lot of candy. Later around 11:00 almost every house that we went to just dumped the rest of their candy into our bags. When we were done we had an insane amount of candy. After that we went to my friends house and we stayed up all night eating candy and playing video games.

  16. My best Halloween memory was two years ago. My cousin and I dressed up as Smurfs. We wore white hats and painted our faces blue. We were trick-or-treating and decided to knock on our soccer coach's door. He opened the door, said "hello" and went to get candy for us. He had no idea who we were because of our costumes so we started laughing. He was very confused while we giggled in front of him. He soon realized who we were because we always laughed at practice and he recognized our laughter. I hope to have great memories like these again this year since I was not able to last year. I was sick therefore I stayed home and ate candy that my parents bought at the store but I would much rather have been with my friends.

  17. My best halloween memory is when i had just started elementary school and i was in kindergarten. I remember i dressed up as a "gymnastics cat" whatever that is! I wore my cousin's old figure skating costume and my brand new light up shoes. I also had on cat ears. I got my makeup done in class by the grade sixers (cat whiskers). I remember how much fun i had doing facepaint on my bestfriend jamie. She was a catterpillar so i painted her entire face green and yellow and she looked so ridiculous! I remember that my dad picked me up from school and drove me and my two sisters to McDonald's to get supper. We then ate it at home as we waited to go trick or treating. After supper, my two friends jamie and kelsey both came over and we all three went trick or treating around my neighbourhood with my dad and little sister. What made that night so special was that these older kids were playing pranks and scaring little kids. I remember the velcro on my shoe came undone and my dad waited behind for me. Next thing i remember is seeing two kids poping out of a bush and then seeing my two bestfriends and little sister getting scared to death. Meanwhile, my dad and i were laughing our heads off. By far one of the funniest things ive ever seen in my life and a great way to end my halloween that year.

  18. I don’t have a best memory of Halloween or even a good one, because I hated going trick or treating as a kid. We can all agree that Halloween is all about the spooky scary stuff right? Well I hate spooky scary stuff. Ever since I can remember I have been the biggest scardy cat in the world, everything spooky scares me and it’s not the good adrenaline pumping scared that I get on roller coasters but the “I think I just wet my self” scared.

  19. My best Halloween memory by far would be when I was 12 years old. It was the first time I went without my mom and I went to my friend's house with a few other friends and we all went together. My friend lives in Pierrefonds and the neighborhood she lives in is known for their haunted houses. So we decided to go check out the scariest haunted house in the neighborhood. When we got there, I knew my friend Julia gets scared very easily so I wanted to scare her. There were a few people dressed in scary costumes in the driveway and they were scaring people as they went in. One of them was dressed as a scary Joker and he tried to scare me, but I stopped him and told him to go scare my friend who was too scared to even step foot onto the driveway. So he snuck up behind her and she turned around and screamed so loud and starting running away. I started laughing my head off and later on that night, so did she. But at first she was so mad at me but I was laughing the entire time. So that is my best Halloween memory.

  20. If I had to think of my favorite halloween it would be the ones I had when I lived in Vancouver. Every single year all the kids in the group of town houses that lived around me would all go trick or treating together. What made it really fun was that we were so many people and I grew up with those guys so we were really good friends. Also most of the houses where I lived used to give out the mega size chocolate bars so obviously I loved that! Once I think I got home and I had a total of 15 mega size ones!! The other part of halloween that I really liked was trading candy with everyone else. We would lay out all of our candy like a little shop and then trade each other the candy we wanted.

  21. My best Halloween experience was a few years ago. My costume was a witch and I looked hella good !! The reason it was the best was because I went with all my neighbors and we got so much candy. Probably the most i'd ever gotten ! We also had the chance to go to a few neighborhoods that we never went to before and that seemed really cool to us because we were young !! Then when I got home, my mom gave me all the extra candy left from our house so I ended up getting a lot !

  22. My best Halloween experience was when I was 11 years old. I dressed up as a nerd, with one of my best friends, together we were a nerd couple. I wore slacks, a hideous shirt, a tie, huge classes, and I gelled my hair down the side of my head, I looked great! This was my best Halloween because I was with a group of my friends, and I got soooooo much candy.

  23. One of my best Halloween memories was last year when I dressed up as chucky. I had all the makeup and even a big knife. I went out trick or treating with some of my friends then we watch Seed of Chucky. We also went outside and went slightly crazy with silky string..... We ate a whole bunch of candy and had so much fun. It was easily one of the best Halloweens.

  24. My best Halloween memory was when I was 11 years old. That year like every other year my father made a mini haunted house in our garage for the trick-or-treaters. My best friend and I went trick or treating in the neighbourhood with his father and we got lots of candy and junk food. We can back to my house earlier so that we too could partake in the scaring of people coming by. So when this group of teenage girls came by, we decided to have some fun. So with the help of my dad and my dad’s friend we scared the girls so much they locked themselves in the car that they had come to my house in, their faces were priceless.

  25. Last year was by far my best Halloween ever! I had never been the most popular girl on my hockey team and never seemed to fit in because the girls were all sooo amazing! The Halloween party we had really brought me closer to the girls, and it was probably my best Halloween memory! I had never seen a horror movie before, and my friend Vanessa brought "The conjuring" to watch. A lot of the girls said it was scary and at first I was really nervous but during the movie we were all cuddled together on the couch screaming and laughing at one another when they got scared. It was so much fun and a real turning point for me. I remember this one part in the movie where the guy trying to kidnap the ghosts was making a recording and he said "November 1st". We all got super freaked out by this because that day in fact WAS November 1st! That night, I actually got to get the pressure off my back and instead of worrying about my coach yelling at me or messing up a play, all I had to worry about was a ghost killing me in my sleep :O

  26. One of my best Halloween memories was when I about 8 years old. I live on a very quiet street and in 2008 it was packed with kids ranging from the ages of 7-11 years old. We all met up for pizza before going out. Once we finished eating, we all went trick-or-treating together and because there were many families on the street every single house was giving out candy. We got so much candy that year and then ended up going to one of our houses, having hot chocolate and ate so much candy! It was such a fun night and was by far one of the best Halloweens ever because I got to spend it with so many of my close friends.

  27. One of my best Halloween memories was the first year that I didn't go Trick-or-Treating and just stayed home and watch Inception, I'm just joking. My favorite memory of Halloween was probably about 3 years ago when I was 12 because it was the first year that I didn't Trick-or-Treating with my parents and just my friends. The reason why I find it the best one out of all of them was because I got to go with my friends only, and every other friend that we saw we managed to get them to tag along, and we also stayed up till around midnight just roaming the streets together and having fun. That was my favorite Halloween memory.

  28. My favourite Halloween memory was from when I was about nine. It was the first time I had gone out without my older sister so it was the first time I had gone with my best friends at the time. Even though all three of our moms were there, I felt like I was a little more independent. We were running around trick or treating until about 8 because our moms insisted that we go inside at that time. Even though we had to go back, we all went to my friends house and spread out our candy. We ate some of it while we traded the ones we didn't like. It was so much fun.

  29. I would say that my favorite Halloween would be the Halloween of 2006. I remember that I was six years old and I could not wait for Halloween. I was a fairy princess and I LOVED my costume. When the night finally arrived we decided that my dad was going to stay home with my nana to give out candy and my mom was going to take my brother and I trick or treating with all of my brothers friends and their parents. I remember being really sad that we were going with my brother’s friends and not mine. My mom tried to explain to me that they were my friends too and that she was really good friends with the parents so it worked out that way. I was mad because my sisters were going out with all their GIRL friends and I was going out with a bunch of boys. Then it happened, munch to my surprise my sisters friends were bagging my sisters to let ME come with them! They told them how cute I was and how fun it would be. Finally my sisters gave in and I got to go trick or treating with the GIRS! I was so happy but what made it even better was that I got home an hour after my brother and I was younger than him. For the first time in my life I stayed up later than one of my siblings and I was so proud. I even got enough candy to last me a lifetime! So that is by far my favorite Halloween memory!!

  30. My BEST Halloween would probably have to be a couple of years ago when my friends and I decided to go to a really rich area expecting to get a little candy and lets just say we got more then expected. Each one of us had a big bag full of every kind of candy you can think off and after that we went home and ate all the candy and watched horror movies until we eventually passed out. - Dennis Mayuga
