The Junos acknowledge CANADIAN music.

Canadians should be very proud of their presence in not only the music industry, but in many other industries: acting, fashion, sports and food.

Are you proud to be a CANADIAN? Is there a special Canadian product that you are attached to? Explain.

  1. I am extremely proud to be a Canadian. In Canada we are free to express ourselves and are free from war and religious persecution. Canada may be colder than other countries but it is extremely safe and is an enjoyable place to live because of its safety. We have genuine maple syrup here in Canada and I could not live without it. It tastes so good on pancakes and waffles. It is so much better than the fake chemical crap they make in the U.S..

  2. Of course I’m proud to be Canadian! Canada is an amazing country with free health care, poutine and a good rep. We are very well respected around the world and in my opinion the most awesome countries of all time. One Canadian product that I am very attached to are the red 2010 Vancouver winter Olympics mittens. They are rather symbolic of Canada with their vibrant red colour and white font. Now I don’t actually own a pair but my mom who was visiting Vancouver around the time of the Olympics picked up a pair for her. As soon as I saw them I fell in love and since then I have sort of adopted them as my own. While they may be a size to big for me I love the sense of pride and patriotism that I get when I wear them. It reminds me that although I may complain about the early mornings at school and Steven Harper Canada is pretty darn great!

  4. I'm very proud to be Canadian eh! We're that cold northern country that's really nice and makes great maple syrup! What's not to be proud of? Yes, we may not have as good tv as american television (who actually watches canadian idol?), but there's one brand in particular that just can't be matched anywhere else on the planet. That is of course Tim Hortons. Canadians have timmy's in their blood, it's a huge part of our identity, and what's not to love about iced capps and Timbits? Any true Canadian knows the nearest one to their house, whether you live in Montreal, Vancouver or even Whitehorse. To me it's a symbol that everyone associates with our country, and I think that it's a pretty awesome thing to be known for.

  5. I am very proud to live in this great country because there is no war like other countries may have and as for religious discrimination there is only very minimal amounts which re already being resolved. We live in a very safe and hospitable country and we should all be proud to live in Canada. On a lighter note there are also some other reasons as to why I am proud to live here. That is because Canada has produced some of the most influential and amazing rock bands in the history of rock and roll. These two bands I am talking about are Rush and Nickelback, being some of my personal favorites as well, it makes it that much better to know that they come from Canada.

    1. I love both of those bands

  6. I am very proud to be Canadian because it is such a peaceful country where no big conflicts happen usually. But most of all, because of their poutine. It is one of my favorite junk foods to eat and Canada has the best poutine. I don't think anyone can argue with that. Another thing that about Canada is their incredible hockey teams. Hockey is one of my favorite sports to watch on tv but playing is a bit tricky for me. I love keeping track of the Montreal Canadians and my favorite player Max Pacioretty. Overall Canada is an amazing country and I am proud to have been born here.

  7. I am so proud to be Canadian. It is such a beautiful and peaceful country unlike all the others. There is no conflicts or problems, like discrimination or slavery. Everyone always seems so happy here, its great. All of our cold weather, maple syrup, and snow gives Canada the stereotypical Canada that everyone talks about. Snow, being my favourite element, is the most crucial. Without snow, what is Canada even? I love rolling in it during the winter, and making sculptures like snowmen, when its sticky. Yesterday in fact, I took a ball of snow and poured a strawberry sauce on top to make somewhat of a snow cone. It tasted so good.

    1. Oh my god ! that snow cone must have been amazing! I love the snow, one of Canada's many perks.

  8. Being Canadian is a true honour, it really is! We have so many sports, and famous people, but most of all I think we have the best foods... more specifically poutine. I don't mean that gross McDonalds poutine that they make out of god knows what, because that is not real! I mean a good old fashioned french fry, with the best possible cheese, and the thick creamy gravy that they put on top. The best poutine I have ever tasted is the one from a little shop in Mont Tremblant. I guess you can consider it to be new, but it is the best poutine I have ever tasted. My meals whenever I go there consist of poutine, poutine, and more poutine. My favorite flavour is the original one, but you can add just about anything to it, smoked meat, beef, vegetables, etc. God bless canada for this amazing creation.

    1. I agree that poutine tastes amazing and Canada definitely has some of the best food. I've never tried the poutine from Mont Tremblant but it sounds great so I hope to one day.

  9. I love and am proud to be Canadian for so many reasons. First of all Canada is such a happy country. When all the other countries were and are in war we still stand strong and keep our cool. We were a safe place for slaves and are allies to many countries. We also have free health which is great because if you are homeless and suddenly get into an accident then you don't even have to worry because they will help you for free. Some Canadian things that I love is Tim Hortons because their ice caps and BLTs there are amazing. I also love beaver tales and syrup taffy from cabane a sucre because they also taste like heaven. These three things are amazing Canadian products and make me proud to be Canadian.

  10. There are so many Canadian products to choose from but I'd have to say my favorites would bee anything including the word "Maple". Whether it's Maple Sugar Pie, Maple Fudge, Maple Lollipops, Maple Cones, or maple syrup, the sweet sugary taste can't compare to a maple product made anywhere else. Not to mention the infamous Cabane a sucre, I go to each year. Everything there is real Canadian food, but the best part is the syrup wrapped in a blanket of snow that transforms into a Maple Syrup Popsicle. Of course there is also the winter sports such as hockey and skiing that make me incredibly passionate towards our country. Obviously I am the most passionate for the winter sports during the Winter Olympic Games but anytime of the year, I will be watching or playing a winter sport. This country is also great politically. Though there are tax arguments and French vs English controversy, we are overall safe and aren't in the midst of a war like some other countries. Whether we are considering food, sports or politics, I am most definitely a proud Canadian!

  11. I love CANADA!!!!!! All the amazing foods and sports. I love the sport of hockey and it's great that it's a Canadian sport. I love going outside in the winter and playing a great competitive game of hockey. Also, it is amazing that in Canada we literally get the best of both worlds because we get snow in the winter and heat in the summer. In the winter we are able to play in the snow, build snowmen, have snowball fights, go sledding, skate, ski and snowboard. There are so many more activities that Canadians can do in the winter and that is amazing. The Canadian foods and treats are so delicious in Canada we have so many delicious meals but I love the desserts so much more. The beaver tails, the "tire sur la neige". In the States they don't have TimHortons and that is their loss. TimHortons has the best drinks, desserts and meals. The best part about Canada is the Timbits from TimHortons!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. Yes I have to admit that I am very proud to be Canadian. We are one of the few lucky countries to not have any discrimination problems and to be a free country! We may take it for granted, but sometimes you have to stop and think to realize just how lucky we really are!! Another think that I really like about Canada is the snow. I may be a little tired of it now, because it's getting a bit long, but the first few weeks of it is great! Another thing that's good about Canada is poutine. I still remember the first time I had it and everytime I get the opportunity to eat some now, I will take it!! Plus our maple syrup is amazing.

  13. I am very proud to be Canadian. Our winters provide the perfect climate to play my favourite sport-hockey. Canada also has some of the greatest foods in the world such as bacon, poutine and maple syrup. Canada also has some amazing athletes, everytime there is an olympic competition it is always a blast to get together with some friends or family and cheer on our athletes.

  14. I am extremely proud to be canadian. To me, the most important thing in Canada is that we have created our own little safe haven where everyone is nice. I know not everybody is extremely nice here but our crime rate is still 43 % lower than the united-states. Its almost rare here to not hear someone say please and thank you, while if you go to the states, it's rare to hear someone say it in the first place. I also love some of our sports, and the fact that our beliefs and morals are extremely advanced. All religion or race is accepted here and racism is barely an issue compared to other places. I don't think there is any canadian product that I am attached to apart from the classic canadian maple syrup that everybody loves. Although I don't think my life would be complete without the occasional poutine!

  15. I am proud to be s Canadian. We are always awesome at the winter Olympics and winter sports. We have great musicians and very little conflict and crime rate compared to other countries. While there isn't really a special Canadian food that I like, I enjoy Poutine a lot. The only problem is that I don't like maple syrup.

  17. I am somewhat a proud Canadian. The reason why I said somewhat is because I find Canada extremely boring and cold. I want to live a different life style. I want to be somewhere that has nicer weather that lasts a longer period of time, I want to be somewhere that has a little more action going on. An example of that, is, in the US, there are all these really cool music award shows like the Grammy's and Billboards. In Canada we only have the Juno's which only consists of mostly Canadian artists. Also, if I wanted to become an actress, I'd have a better chance in succeeding because everything is english, there are more talent agents, and they make most of their movies in the US. I have to say though, Canada has great sports such as hockey. I love watching hockey. It's so interesting and captivating. I would definitely miss the amazing sports if I moved.

  18. I am very proud to be Canadian. Although I often think about what it would be like to live somewhere else like Los Angeles, in the end I would prefer living here. A few things that are my favourite about our country are the maple syrup and the weather. Maple syrup is obviously famous in Canada and I absolutely love it. I can always tell which one is fake and which one is real. Although I often complain about our weather, I still love it. The fall and the spring are absolutely beautiful when the leaves change colour and there is a slight breeze in the air. I would not want to live somewhere that is always hot and everything is always green. The best is driving up to my country house when the leaves just start to change and the mountains become so colourful. The summer is perfect because it is not freezing out but also not scorching hot. As for the winter, it is not my favourite season but I love when there are blizzards and I get to stay indoors or fall asleep to a beautiful snowfall

  19. I am proud to be a Canadian. I am proud because Canada is one of the most beautiful countries in the world for wilderness of any kind, for examples a rainforest, mountains, forests icy regions... I am also proud because Canada is a well respected country around the world (except ISIS obviously), so which means sometimes I get respect from people, which I don't deserve. Another thing that I am proud of is that we have gun laws unlike the US where anyone old enough can just buy one and start shooting whenever they want. That's why I'm proud of being a Canadian.

  20. I am a super proud Canadian! I feel like it's mainly because I was born here. There's not really an explanation on why I'm proud, it's kind of just a proudness that I think every Canadian has. One special Canadian person I'm attached to is pretty predictable and it's Justin Bieber. Everyone probably knows that I'm obsessed with him and he's so talented and amazing and I'm really glad that he's Canadian.

  21. I guess I’m pretty proud to be a Canadian. A product that I am really almost obsessed with is Maple Syrup. Maple syrup is so sweet and yummy and I eat it with a lot of things. My aunt and uncle own a sugar shack there for I’ve had a lot of experience with maple syrup and sugar products. It’s really only the best in Canada because every time I stay at a hotel and they have maple syrup, it doesn’t taste the same or as good as here!

  22. EH I am proud to be a Canadian. One advantage is the only thing other countries could say about us is that we are to nice and forgiving, so guilty as charged. a Canadian product i love is TIM HORTONS, it is slowly spreading into the states such as NYC and near the border separating the us and Canada. But no matter what everyone will always know Tim Hortons as being Canadian, sorry?

  23. I am very proud to be Canadian! I feel very fortunate to live in this amazing country! I believe that all Canadians have a very good reputation with other countries around the world. I know when I went traveling in the summertime whenever I told someone I was Canadian I was very proud to say it and they always were so excited because they had the impression that we are all very kind and forgiving people which I was happy to hear! The one Canadian product that I am very proud that was created in Canada and is still only available in Canada is Tim Hortons. I love Tim Hortons and I go there all the time. I love how it represents Canada and I'm so glad it's something we can call our own!

  24. I am very proud to be Canadian! Over here in Canada we have freedom of belief, expression, thought and speech. It is a great place to live and a great culture to be apart of. I think my favorite part of being Canadian is the hockey. I find it a great time to bond with my dad. We always sit on the couch together, and everyone else in my family do not really care about hockey. So it's just us two. We talk, he answers all the questions that I have, we cheer and also eat junk food. It is a good time of year.
