The BLOG topic this week is FREE CHOICE! You could blog about whatever it is you want, except what you've already blogged about! You could go on a rant or you could simply blog about something important to you. Please do not blog about blogs!
I highly recommend that you go OUTSIDE the BOX! Be creative and write about something you feel important or something you would like to tell your audience.
You must remember your audience. It is not simply me (Mr. Katz) reading this blog!
If you will be ranting about a certain individual, you need to leave their name out of this. You could give them a pseudonym or simply leave their name as anonymous.
Make sure your language is appropriate. Do not go on swearing tangents.
Have a great short week!!

ReplyDeleteIt’s finally April which means spring has arrived… or at least it was supposed to. Yet here we are in Canada still stuck with snow that is really dragging out winter way longer than it needs to. To me, if it’s past Easter, there really shouldn’t be any traces of winter left and I’m truly ready to move on to another season. You see, winter is great for like 2 months around Christmas and New Year’s when it’s cold and the snow makes everything feel festive and pretty, but in this awkward winter/spring transition, it’s pretty gross. The murky slush and dirty puddles everywhere really aren’t aesthetically pleasing, so spring better get here soon. I’m totally ready to pack away my winter boots and coat and bring out some t-shirts and shoes, as well as hopefully open my pool soon and finally feel the sun again, which is why although on paper spring is here, I’m really looking forward to the day where it truly comes to us.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy it's spring too!!!
DeleteGrace
I can't wait for spring either! All the flowers and sunshine...I can almost see it!
DeleteI'm going to blog about Easter!!! I love Easter especially all the decadent chocolate!!!!! I love waking up on Easter morning and when I was a kid we used to do Easter egg hunts. I would always find the most eggs! This year my family came over to my house for Easter and we had a brunch it was so much fun!!! At first I didn't want them to come to our house because I knew we would have to clean our house. It was totally worth it... because we got to keep all the leftover food and there was so much food!!! My family brought so much food and it was all delicious but I still haven't tried all of it yet. Our fridge is stuffed to the brim with amazing food. Also one of my aunts brought a huge bag of mini eggs as a host gift so hosting Easter brunch was definitely worth it!!! Not only did I get tons of chocolate and food but I got five days to eat all that food and watch as much Netflix as I could, so overall it was a pretty good Easter!!!
ReplyDeleteGrace
I also love Easter and it sounds like yours was really fun!

ReplyDeleteI am going to do my blog about how immoral one section of our economy is. A long time ago, people used to always keep their money. But then people soon realized that that was unsafe. Therefore they started trusting people with their own money which is what we know today as banks. The bankers would then start to get greedy because they would realize that they could almost double their income if they starting lending money to people but with a lot of interest. The banker would then have start to use checks. We learned in history class that checks were used to make it easier to transport money. But that is not the actual reason. The bankers did not have the real money because they were lending it so they invented checks. That is when money started becoming only a number and not an actual value. At first this was completely immoral and if someone found out that a banker was doing then they would try and retrieve all of their money. But then a big crash would happen because since the banker was lending money, not everybody can get all of their money back. To this day, this practice has continued to the point where it has become moral. In my opinion it is completely insane that people are using our hard-earned money to lend it to people so that they can make way more than us. The government is constantly hiding this from us, just like in history class because if everybody pulled out their money, then there would be a huge crash and the economy would be ruined. Hence the government will fall. This demonstrates our economic problems and how shaky our system actually is. Even if using interest is a suitable way of stimulating our economy, I worry that this can cause a major crash in the future. If everybody wanted their money back, the government would have two options, first of all they could not give the money. This would cause a loss of faith in the government which will cause the fall of our system. Second of all, they could make more money and give it to the population so that they can get their money back. This will cause a major boom in our economy since everyone will be richer. Although, our economy will fall apart when the value of the Canadian dollar drops. It is 100% selfish that we are creating a major boom in our economy but assuring that our future generations will live the crash.
ReplyDeleteI understand that you feel strongly for this topic but is this just your opinion? or are they facts. I'm not saying that your opinion is wrong, just that you have false statements. How do you know that the government is "hiding this from us" or that it will even "fall" in the first place.
DeleteFirst of all, we know the government is investing in the stock market unequally. This could be known as "rigging" the stock market. I am not saying I am correct, but numerous studies have shown that the governments involvement on the economy is 100% hidden from us. I don't think this hidden activity will do negative things but I feel if these things get revealed then it cause the loss of faith in our government. Our system is shaky, and just like the crash we had in 1929. It is clear that our system that we have is slightly unhealthy because of the many economic issues we have. I don't think that the economy will 100% crash, but I feel like it is a possibility we need to be aware of since the chances of it happening are not as low as you think. Finally, this blog was more on the opinionated/speculation side so I understand if you do not agree with me.

DeleteDon’t you just love that enticing feeling of a new book? Well, I have recently gotten into a really good one and I am having so much trouble putting it down! I love when the author makes you feel as though you know the characters on a personal level, almost s if you were friends. That is exactly how I feel, this makes me even more invested in the wellbeing of these characters. I am approaching that bittersweet point when you don’t have much left of the book to read and you don’t want it to be over but at the same time, you want to know the ending so bad. I am not looking forward to the post ending depression that comes with finishing a good book. Although, on the other hand I love the feeling of total awe after you read the ending! I really hope that the ending of this book is good, wish me luck!
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel it is an emotional roller coaster. I was wondering, what book are you reading?
DeleteGetting up for school after a long weekend sucks. I find it hard getting up super early on a day to day basis, so after a holiday I have a lot of problems with it. First of all, my sleep schedule isn't great when I'm on a break. During school I try to go to bed at around the same time everyday but on holidays that just doesn't happen. I end up waking up pretty late every morning and go to bed super late every night. But then the day comes back when I have to get up at 6am to get my butt to a place that I don't really feel like being that early. It sucks! You'd think that after around 9 years of school I would've gotten used to it, but apparently not. I hope that in the future I find a way to make this somewhat pleasant for myself, but for the time being I have to say that I'm not a happy person in the morning.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean! The worst is when we come back after summer break. Getting up at 6 after 2 months of sleeping in is so hard.
DeleteMe too! I hate waking up early for school.
DeleteThis weekend my dad and I went to go and buy groceries at a certain store called Costco. I don't particularly like this store because it is always crowded and the building it self is way to big. My father asks me "Matt can you go and get the milk?" I said sure, and this was where my journey began. I started my quest with not enough knowledge about the location of the milk and long story short....I never got to the milk -_-. I had to face some of the most fierce obstacles in my entire life! There were tons of old ladies with shopping carts that moved as slow as a snail, and even that is pushing it! There was also the occasional person who asks me how fresh the bread was, because they thought I knew the answer to that, and I was convinced half the people in that store needed hearing aids when I said excuse me but that wasn't the case, they just didn't want to move. I get back to the cash because, where my dad was and he asks me "what happened?". All I said was I didn't make it to the milk.
ReplyDeleteHaha, Costco is always annoying and busy.
DeleteArt is a topic that often crosses my mind, and for this blog it seemed perfect to talk about it. I'm the kind of person who can pick up and pencil and paper and draw whatever comes to mind. One of my favorite things to do is "stalk" artist on just about everything. I love seeing their ideas because you get a sense of who that person is, and it also gives me an idea of what I could draw in the future. As much as I love to draw, I think painting is my favorite artistic expression. I had started a painting around when school started at a studio I go to, and last week I finally finished it. I am especially proud of it because it turned out beautifully. It's an old fashioned greek doorway. I know it doesn't sound like much, but the amount of detail put onto it made it that much better. My favorite part of the painting are the two statement chairs placed in front of the door. I must have spent 3 hours on each of them. It took a lot of time to complete, but I can say that I am very proud of it.
ReplyDeleteI find it amazing that art has such an impact on people's lives! I also do art, but I play piano instead of drawing.
DeleteI just had a dentist appointment and it was awful as usual. I showed up with my dad and sister because they had appointments at the same time. We sat down and 5 minutes later my sister got called up. Then another 10 minutes and my dad went. I figured that it would mean I was next. I was wrong. 45 minutes later they called me up. It was uncomfortable, but i was only actually in the room for 20 minutes, so it wasn't that bad.
ReplyDeleteI don't like the dentist either.
DeleteI hate going to the dentist they always make you wait so long.

ReplyDeleteThis Easter break my mom took my sister and I to Florida. We stayed with our grandmother, like we usually do, in her tiny beachside condo. Now this blog will not be focusing on our trip but rather the flight returning home. For a bit of background story: since we go to Florida every year we like to find the cheapest mode of transportation. We usually fly out from a tiny airport in Plattsburg, but to make things easier this year we flew out of Montreal. This mini airport in Plattsburg does not have TV’s or a wide variety of snacks on the plane so needless to say we were ecstatic to hear that we were flying Air Canada. The flight there was great! I watched a bunch of TV shows and a movie and the only downer was we had to wake up at 4 am! Now, on the way home we flew air Canada rouge, which is a branch of air Canada. Not only do they not have TV’s but also you have to download an app to stream the shows up in the air. I think this is a great idea but we were only told about this once we boarded the plane and were out of the Wi-Fi zone. My mom scrambled to activate her hotspot and we were able to download it just in time. Normally I wouldn’t care if we were without TV’s for 3 hours but I had not planned for that and I would have been left with literally nothing to do!
ReplyDeleteI went to florida a couple years back and I recall driving to a small airport in Plattsburgh that was overcrowded and never had enough seats for everyone. I'm glad you got Wi-Fi just in time! It would have been a long ride back!
DeleteRecently in pop class we were assigned a project called "Moving Out" which I am super excited about. We have to find out the total cost of one year living on our own, starting from scratch! This means apartment rent costs, electricity, hydroquebec, transportation, food, utilities, laundry... and so much more! Though it is a lot of work and will take a lot of effort and time, I am very excited on how realistic this project is. Now that I've gotten a few jobs and know how to be responsible with my money, I'd like to see how much it would cost, and how different I will become. What if in a couple years from now, I'm still into hockey and would like to put money towards playing? There are so many expenses you think about during this project. If I live somewhere far away, I will most likely put money towards visiting my family in montreal. All of these costs are some stuff we don't realize our parents pay for! My phone, my clothes, food, books, school supplies, and not to mention schooling when I'm older... mostly paid for by my parents. This project allows us to really plan out our future!
ReplyDeleteWow! You really are ready and are very good at thinking and planning into your future. It's good that you are enjoying the assignment, unlike me who slacks off.
DeleteSomething very important is coming up on April 13th! MY BIRTHDAY!! I love birthdays. It's that one day that you feel special and mature and like everything will go well. I especially love celebrating it with friends and family. I usually go out for a fancy supper with my family the night of my birthday. And then the weekend coming after that or after that weekend it's the party with my friends. I love having super fun birthday parties. Over the years I've gone to La ronde, Zig Zag Zoo, the recreateque, isaute and so much more. I love being with my friends and having a fun time. This year I'm not sure what I will be doing but it's probably going to be a hang out party and then a sleepover. I can't wait to turn 15 and celebrate it with the people I love.
ReplyDeleteThis Easter I did not do much; I was sick for most of the week and when I got better school had already started. When you’re not sick you don’t realize all the things you can do, such as being able to breath without coughing ever minute or even, just getting up to get yourself a glass of water. I do not usually get sick but when I do, I get really sick. It usually lasts for about a week then I’m fine, but for that whole week I can’t really do anything. One thing that is good about being sick is, you can just lay in bed all day and watch movies. The positive in all of this is that I watched four different movies and two seasons of the “Walking Dead”.
ReplyDeletei love the walking dead!!!
DeleteAww that's sucks you were sick. I wasn't sick so I had a lot of fun. Maybe next year you won't be sick.
Deleteway to go!
DeleteWell Easter just passed and i went to Toronto to see my cousins! it was really fun and i really missed my cousins so it was fun to see them. We did lots of stuff that weekend like go shopping and out for dinner. We also went to Niagara falls which was really fun! we went to a Hershey factory where we got to see them make all of the chocolate and then we went home and ate it all! overall it was a great weekend and i was sad to leave!!
ReplyDeleteToday I went outside out lunch to go to the depaneur with Elisabeth. When we left it wasn't raining but it had been raining earlier. When we got to the dep I bought to packs of popie sticks. We waited around eating the candy until it was time to go back to school. At 12:25 we began walking back when all of a sudden it started pouring rain. We got absolutely drenched. When we got back I had nothing to change into so I had to last 2 hours it soaking wet clothes.
ReplyDeleteThis past break I went up north , somewhere close to the skiing mountain Val St-Côme. We rented a really cool cottage that even had a, indoor hot tub right outside. The main reason why we decided was to see two other cottages we might buy next year. The second cottage was a really cool cottage that's right on the water of a beautiful lake on top of a mountain which is rare too. Can't wait till next year.
ReplyDeleteAwe that sounds like such a beautiful place, and a lot of fun!
DeleteThis past weekend was Easter. Easter to me isn't a religious holiday, to me it's an excuse to eat a lot of chocolate. Also we get a lot of time off school to hang around and be with friends and family. Over the break all I did was eat chocolate and go to different friends houses and had fun. I can't wait till the next long weekend as it's always to have some extra time off school just to be able to hang around and do nothing productive.
ReplyDeleteFor this weeks blog I decided to write about animals. I love animals, they are amazing creatures with amazing and unique personalities. When I am older I would like to be a veterinarian so I will be spending lots of time with animals. There are so many various species of animals and they are all unique individuals with unique traits and behaviors. All these animals live in a sort of harmony, yes they do eat each other, but only for sustenance which is something I admire. They do not let any go to waste. These are some of the reasons that I love animals.
ReplyDeleteI love animals too! I think it is cool that you want to be a veterinarian.
DeleteFor this blog I’m going to write about the cruise I will be going on in October. I’m going on this cruise with my Aunt, Uncle and my 9 year old cousin. Since my cousin is kind of young, they booked a Disney cruise that goes to places in the Caribbean. I am actually really excited to go on this cruise and spend all day playing with my cousin then getting to dress up for fancy dinners at night and watching the shows. I’ve never been on a cruise before nor have I ever been to the Caribbean so I am anxious to know what it is like.
ReplyDeleteFor this blog, I decided to write about how much I love Dairy Queen. I've gone there many times with family, friends and my soccer team. Last year my team was new and we knew that we would be playing against teams who had played together for years. We were not the best team so we usually would go to Dairy Queen when we won a game. My favourite item to get there is the cookie dough blizzard. I would get this every time I went but I realized something this year. Every time, I get the same thing but it would be a better idea to get the blizzard of the month instead. Since they only come once in a while, I might as well take the opportunity to try something new. Last month the special was the mint Oreo blizzard and it was absolutely delicious. I was so glad I decided to try the blizzard of the month because it was completely worth it.
ReplyDeleteomg i also love DQ!
DeleteOne of my favourite movies, Pitch Perfect is coming out with a sequel in May and I'm super excited. I still remember the first time I saw Pitch Perfect. It was in the cafeteria right before Christmas Break of sec one. Two years later, it's one of my favourite movies and I'm already making plans to go see it in May. If you have never seen this movie before I highly recommend it. Not only is it full of singing it's hilarious. And the characters are so great. This movie is fabulous.
ReplyDeletefor this free blog, i decided to talk about how my friends and i want to go to a road trip to Myrtle beach. This all started one lunch when we were all talking about how we wanted to go onto a road trip. Then, we just went over board and started making collages about our trip and now i'm just very excited to go on this road trip!
ReplyDeleteI go there almost every summer I have so much fun there I bet you will too :)
DeleteMy blog this week, will be about the get together with my best friends that happened tonight. There were five of them that came over and we had such a great time. It was really nice because we got the chance to bond and get to know each other even better. We laughed a lot and didn’t stop. We ate, watched a movie, bonded over music, and spoke. I really hope we can do it again soon because I haven’t had that much fun in a very long time.
ReplyDeleteFor this weeks blog I will be writing about my favorite thing to do during my free time; trampolining. I have more fun jumping in my trampoline now then I did when I first got it because now, I can do all sorts of tricks. I can now do a cartwheel with no hands, a front flip and lots of other things that don't have any names, I think. I have the most fun when I'm jumping with my sister. We each take turns do a trick and then try to copy the other ones trick. It's harder for me because she can do a back flip and I can't. When my brother comes with me I try to teach him how to do a front flip because he really wants to nail it but he can't yet. I end up staying in my trampoline for hours I have so much fun that time just flies by.
ReplyDeleteFor this free blog I am going to talk about how much I love summer and how much I am excited for it to be summer. First of all, in summer we don't have to worry about school or dress codes or teachers or anything really! I always feel completely carefree in the summer and just happier in general. Secondly, my friends and I have made tons of fun plans that I cannot wait to do this summer. We want to go to all the festivals, go to cottage, go to concerts and make the most out of the summer which we hopefully will. I also really want to get a summer job to make extra money and to save up for Europe. There are endless reasons why I am beyond excited for summer but these are just a few!
ReplyDeletepreach it honey
DeleteFor this free blog I would like to discuss osheaga this summer. Summer is pretty much the only thing i look forward to the whole year and what better way to celebrate it with a 3 day concert?!? I've always dreamed of going to osheaga but knew i could never come up with the money i need to buy a ticket (around 280$). once i saw the lineup for the artists performing i immediately knew this lineup was created for me. i know about 18+ bands that i love and instead of going to 18 concerts and paying a huge amount of money I'm going to see them and many more for a amazing price. I'm so excited and can't wait, this summer is going to be amazing, all i have to do now is wait for it.
ReplyDeleteThat seems really exciting!!
Deletemy blog this week will be about my new favorite show: greys anatomy. At first i found it very disturbing with all the surgeries and stuff but after a few episodes it was really interesting. It even made me question my dream to be a lawyer when im older. Its about the lives of interns in a big hospital and how difficult and it can be to be a surgeon and having someones life in your hands. But its also about the relationships between the surgeons and interns which is pretty funny. Overall this show is so great and obviously not like the lives of real surgeons off tv.
