Blog 47 - Wednesday, April 15, 2015

The BLOG topic this week is FREE CHOICE!  You could blog about whatever it is you want, except what you've already blogged about!  You could go on a rant or you could simply blog about something important to you. Please do not blog about blogs!

I highly recommend that you go OUTSIDE the BOX! Be creative and write about something you feel important or something you would like to tell your audience.

You must remember your audience.  It is not simply me (Mr. Katz) reading this blog!
If you will be ranting about a certain individual, you need to leave their name out of this.  You could give them a pseudonym or simply leave their name as anonymous.
Make sure your language is appropriate.  Do not go on swearing tangents.

  1. For this weeks free blog, and I say this week's because free blogs are turning into a weekly thing now, I'm going to talk about how I started youtube. You may not be well aquatinted with www.youtube.com but me being a person who spends his Friday nights alone week after week knows a little too much to say . At first I started watching youtube videos here and there when I got bored, then one day I realized that most of the people that make the videos that I love are just regular people. So with that thought in mind I watched all the videos I could and made notes of what I really liked, then one sunday I noticed that none of my favorite youtubers had uploaded so I decided to make one myself on a channel called Pete West. I had no idea what the channel would be about but I did know one thing and that was that this is my channel and I could post whatever I wanted. And I've been doing it ever since.

    Oh ya, First :)

  2. For this weeks blog, I am going to talk about my most recent dream. Last night, I went to go see "The Longest Ride", at the movies with my mom. I first walked into the theatres not that excited about the movie, but I walked out with the complete opposite feeling. The movie was so inspirational. It was about two different love stories. One of them being a teenage love story, with a beautiful girl and a cowboy/bull rider, and another being about a man and his sweetheart (the letters of their relationship were being read out by the girl, because the man was dying after being in a car crash, and wanted to remember his love Ruth who died a while ago). I ended up crying in the end, not only because of how sad the movie was, but because of how inspirational it was. I have never cried in a movie in my life, and to me this was a huge deal. Going to bed that night, I kept on thinking about how dreamy and sweet the cowboy was, and how much I wanted that type of relationship. It inspired me, and now I am 100% sure that I want to move out to North Carolina and do my studies there, just so I can plan out the rest of my life just like the movie. Because if the story made me that happy, I can't even imagine how happy I would be if my life turned out to be like that.

  3. I'd like to base my blog on tonight's habs game that I am currently watching! The first goal for Ottawa was scored by our own defence, Markov which was a terrible mistake. To start off the second period, Mitchell tied it up 1-1 with a nice wrap around. A fan of the puck by carlsson leads to an immediate breakaway for Plekanec where he fakes a slapshot and scores five-whole! At this point, I am filled with joy and incredibly pleased with our lead. However, my spirits are crushed when eller get's called for high sticking instead of a butt-ending penalty which really would've cost us. P.K then get's a 5 minute major for a slashing "attempt to injure" which get's him kicked out of the game!!! What would seem to be our best player is kicked out of our first playoff game!! Ottawa then ties it 2-2 followed by a beautiful goal by Eller, the second love of my life. He get's a beautiful pass from Flynn our recent buffalo trade and makes aa top shelf goal look effortless. He scored on a 5 on 3 which completely amazed me. Once again I was disappointed that Ottawa found a way to tie it up again. As the 2nd period continues, Subban come out of the dressing room half dressed angry that Mark Stone (the guy he slashed) is back on the bench ready to play. I understand his anger completely for why should P.K be kicked out of the game for something that can't injure the player for more than 5 minutes?! As I am typing this, Flynn put's in a wrap around goal on the far corner of the net. Not much has happened in the beginning of the 3rd period but Mark Stone from Ottowa makes trips back and forth from the bench to the dressing room. With 5 minutes left, habs still leasding 4-3, we get a shot that trickles right over the net, a crossbar and a post (disallowed goal). Ottowa pulls their goalie to stress me out by keeping the puck in our zone. The habs sacrifice everything, diving everywhere to prevent a goal. !9.5 seconds left for an important face off that is won by ottawa straight to the point where they take a shot and just skim the crossbar,. The buzzer goes and almost all the players on the ice drop their gloves and pounce on each other, punching and pulling at each others jerseys. The refs break it up, and it's official, the habs have won their first game of the playoffs!!!

  4. I am going to do this blog about 5 things that I just can't handle/make me cringe. The first one when my pencil's graphite breaks at the tip and the wood of my pencil ends up scratching against the paper. For some reason the sound and the feeling you get in your hands drives me insane. The second and most famous one, is when someone scratches a chalkboard. The terrible scratching sound makes my ears want to go inside out to avoid hearing that ever again. The third thing is biting on a popsicle stick. I have sensitive teeth and just biting into one stick, makes me hyperventilate like no tomorrow. I have no idea why. The fourth thing would be when someone scratches their fork or knife on a plate. WHY DO PEOPLE DO THIS?? Listening to that for a long time is one of the worst torture methods I can think of. The last one is the feeling of wood planks on my feet. I can't stand this dry, rough and processed feeling. I am 100% fine with walking on sticks or logs, but not wood planks.

  6. Last night was my first time ever driving a car. My dad asked me around 9 yesterday if I wanted to go drive on my own for the first time. I was super excited because driving looks so much fun, the sooner I start practising the sooner I get my license. So my dad I decided to drive over to Fairview, since that parking lot is huge and it had just closed which means there would be a lot of space to practise. We got there and my dad parked and then it was time to switch places. My dad started teaching me some rules like how to fix the mirrors, how to push the petals, how to steer the wheel and so much more. When I was done practising with my food off the break I started pressing the gas and I was driving all around the huge parking lot on the mini roads. It was so much and I can't believe I actually drove a car on my own. I found it really easy and I can't wait to go driving again.

  7. For this weeks blog I would like to talk about my procrastination. It's no surprise that I'm such a procrastinator considering I keep forgetting to do these blogs and I always seem to do them a couple minutes before the deadline. I used to find it pretty funny, but now It's getting out of hand. Its 10:15 and I just remembered that I have homework. I go through every day this way and its pathetic but i get along pretty okay. The blogs we have to do sometimes become the last thing on my mind compared to others things or maybe its because we get 3 days to do it. End of story, i tend to write things on my arm to remind me and its tiring. so yeah finally didn't procrastinate this blog!

  8. Today I found out that the music app Itube is deleting on Monday. I am very upset about this because this is where I keep all of my music. I use this app pretty much all day long and now it's just going to be deleted out of my life. Plus it was free so that was great! I've now gotten the app spotify but I can't listen to the music when I'm not on wifi unless I pay a monthly fee! I don't understand why they have to delete the app. What's the point? Anyways I've been sort of annoyed about this and I though I would let the people who use this app know that it's going to be gone on Monday :(

  9. For my blog I wanted to talk about summer! I'm so excited that summer is finally coming. For me summer means no school and fun all the time. The entire summer is spent swimming and hanging out with my friends. I am hoping to finally get something done this summer rather than just watching Netflix the entire time. Last summer I finished at least two shows that had around eight seasons each. But I'm mostly excited to be able to sleep in all day and do anything I want.

  10. For this free blog, I am going to talk about Maddy's birthday party. It was so much fun. We got wasted and I was so hungover the next day. We stayed up until 4AM partying really hard. There was approximately 50 people there. The house was trashed, luckily her parents were only coming back on Monday. She had to call construction workers to fix damages done to the house. That didn't actually happen, I sat at home and did nothing like usual!

  11. I never know what to write about for my free blogs. So today I'm just going to write about what I did today when I came back form school...it was pretty exciting. After school my best friend came over and stayed until five. When I came out to say bye to her, I noticed my neighbor reading her book in front of her house. I used to be very close with her when I was young, she was practically adopted, she spent more time at my house then she did at her own. I was so excited, I couldn't remember the last time I saw her. Because she is 4 years older than me, we got to spend even more time with her. She babysat me all summer when we were younger. We were practically inseparable. So, today we spent more then 3 hours talking I can't believe we've been separated for so long. After I left her house I went in and ate supper, which is a regular thing here at the Rebeiro household. During supper, I watched the Habs game with my dad and my sister but she was complaining the whole time so I don't really know why she was there. After that I had to pack all my clothes because my mom was going to pick me up, like every other Friday...I switch houses due to the separation of my parents. When I was loading my bag into the car I saw my neighbor again and this time my whole family came outside to talk to her, it was so much fun. We all missed each other a lot.

  12. For my free blog, I decided to talk about my olympic way course. Olympic way is a course in which I get to learn how to teach younger kids in the first few levels of swimming how to swim. I've always loved kids especially younger kids and I love to swim as well so I decided to take this course. I take these courses at the Pointe-Claire Aquatic Center and so far, it is really helpfull and fun. Hopefully when I pass this course, I can go right ahead into teaching children how to become amazing swimmers!

  13. I am so excited for summer because I just found out that I will be going back to England again this year! I'm very excited because this means dinners with the Royals and lots of fun times with my little cousins. I'm also very excited because this means that I also get to continue to learn how to ride horses and do many other British activities. Another reason I am excited for summer is because I get to hang out with my friends all the time. I really like my friends this year because I made a lot of new ones. They're all very nice and we love hanging out. This summer is going to be great and I can't wait!!

  14. For my free blog, I am going to talk about something that I love, summer. It seems like it is so far away but it is actually very close. The weather is already starting to get very nice, and soon enough we will all be able to just wear T-shirts to school. The reason I love summer so much is because I can play my favorite sport, waterpolo.
