The trailer that I thought was really good and hilariously funny was a recent movie which has just come out in theatres. It is called "lets be cops". The trailer featured funny scenes and some action and danger but I found that the actual movie itself had almost no story line, and it almost felt like the movie producers had to extend the length of it so it wouldn't seem to short to the audience that was watching. Over all i found the movie was just okay, but no where near what the trailer demonstrated.
the movie trailer that i found really good was captain America the winter soldier. the trailer was full of exciting events and that is what you would expect from a marvel movie however the movie itself was not so great. the only exciting scenes for me were the ones shown in the trailer and the rest of the movie was just mostly boring things. And even with it being a marvel movie it did not go into great character detail, it was mostly "Hi I'm captain America! I fight villains" so i found the movie very boring.
The trailer for the movie "Think Like A Man 2' was really funny, entertaining and interesting. When I watched the movie, it was extremely boring, and there was really no point to the so-called story. The trailer showed clips of the men and women having many funny adventures in the middle of the night. The trailer was completely inaccurate compared to the movie. Watching Think Like A Man 2 was a complete waste of my time. I do not recommend this movie to anyone of any age.
When I first saw the trailer for the Green Lantern, I'll admit I was pretty excited to go see this movie, as I am a big fan of the marvel movies. The trailer made the movie seem like an action packed superhero movie, with the potential to become an instant classic. However, the movie ended up being a complete waste of 123 minutes of my life. Unlike the very exciting trailer, I found the movie itself flat and purposeless, completely missing the mark and just generally disappointing. I completely understand, I myself am a fan of the marvel movies and I was planning to go see this one. However my father and sister went to see it and told me the exact same thing about how terrible it was. I never even bothered to see it and it is unfortunate that you where so excited but you just ended up wasting your time and money on this film.
I think that a movie that was much worse than its trailer was The Bling Ring. To put it kindly; in my eyes the movie was absolutely terrible. This movie has no plot and no real or specific end. It seems to me that the director got bored and decided to end the movie early and leave it incomplete. The trailer, I actually found quite impressive and I really liked it for a few reasons. The trailer depicted scenes of action, adventure, climax and suspense that where just not there in the movie. I was also very intrigued and excited to watch this seemingly interesting movie that promised, police chases, heart-pumping robberies and some very well developed characters. Unfortunately the movie fell flat in my eyes. To top it all off this movie was based on a true story and sadly it did neither the story nor the trailer justice.
Wow that must have been frustrating... I hate when movie trailers give you a different story than the actual one presented in the film! The movie shouldn't be making money if it isn't good; make a trailer that seems good, but not pushing it to make the movie seem bad or bad reviews will roll in ;)
I also agree with you that the trailer made the movie out to be so much better then it actually was and that there was no real plot line or character development.
One movie that really caught my eye when I first saw the trailer was "Drive". After seeing the action and suspense I really wanted to go see it. My sister,mom and me went about a week after it came out expecting the lead character to be the best role. Yet we left the theatre disappointed when finding out that Ryan Gosling barely ever talked in the film. In the trailer all the parts where he actually did talk were put in. The movie was very violent and showed nudity, if the trailer prepared me for that I wouldn't of went to see it, especially with my mom. Honestly I really hated this movie and its misleading trailer.
I totally understand your frustration! It is so annoying to spend money and waste your time on a movie just to be let down. Movies are long and expensive so they have be good to make it worth your while, if not it's just one big waste! I have taken to ready the reviews before I go to see a movie to try and minimize that as much as possible.
One trailer I really enjoyed watching, was the one for the horror film; Mama. I liked it because after watching the movie, I realised it didn't reveal the ending or any parts that should be kept as a surprise. I was intrigued because of the background music, and the frightening parts they were showing(i.e the kid's strange behaviour, the mom being harassed etc.) . Watching the trailer, I thought the movie was going to have a great plot with a twist at the end, but I was wrong. The movie ended up being almost childish, and I'd be lying if I admitted to being frightened at any of the parts. It was more amusing to me seeing the effort put in to make it such a "great" movie, but unfortunately, some producers go a bit TOO overboard.
I totally agree with you, that movie was horrible but the trailer got me so interested and intrigued and I wanted to see it so bad, but in the end, I was a pretty bad movie.
I also saw the trailer of Lucy and thought it was going to be as cool as you thought it was going to be. Like you as soon as the movie was done I knew I hated it. It was boring and had no meaning to it.

One of the worst movies I have ever seen was Blended. The trailer for the movie blended was really funny and looked very entertaining but I was very wrong. First off the jokes were dumb and some were creepy. Also the acting wasn’t so good for most of the actors. I found the story line kind of predictable and rushed. I thought for the most part this movie was lame and a waste of money but I have to admit some of the jokes were pretty funny.
The movie, or "movies" that I found were horrible but the trailers were amazing are Paranormal Activity 1 through 5. Those movies are like ghost and demon stories caught on camera with a whole family involved and the trailers made those movies seem so scary and that they always keep you on your feet. Nope...they don't. The movies have no real scary parts and the acting is not as I expected and honestly without sound effects for scary scenes is just not good. I like to jump whenever something scary happens but while watching these, I just sit there and sometimes I don't even notice anything. So don't be intrigued by the trailers because those movies are not worth it.
I completely agree with you! I personally love getting scared and the movie just isn't enough but I did find that the trailers are very well put together. They just give away all the actually scary parts.
The movie that I found had a great commercial but a terrible movie was Grown ups 2. The commercial made it look like another great movie like the first one. The story that they made in the commercial was literally everything that they had in the actual movie. The other jokes they made in the film were terrible. Not only were they super boring but they were also disgusting. I honestly almost threw up many times. I hate the second movie because in the trailer they make it sound like they were kind of extending the first movie. But instead they destroyed the first movie because they stole the innocence of the young children. Therefore messing up half of the jokes from the first one when the adults were abusing the innocence of their children.

The one awesome movie trailer that turned out to be a bad movie was Prometheus (2012). I was disappointed because it was a slow paced movie instead of an epic fast paced action movie. Another reason why it was disappointing is because it was basically a prequel to all the Alien franchise movies, which was practically going to tell us how it all started.
The movie that I find is not as good as the trailer makes it out to be is Vampire Academy. The trailer made it seem like there was a good balance between action and high school drama but in the movie, it mostly focused on the high school drama part and a most of the jokes and good parts were already in the trailer. So when I actually watched the movie I had already seen most of the best parts. Also I find the movie did no justice to the novel Vampire Academy which was phenomenal, I read the whole series plus a second series based off of that one, that is how good it was.
I think a movie that had a great trailer but the movie itself was not so great was Iron Man 3. The trailer was action packed and intense and after watching it, I could not wait to see the movie. I think that this trailer explained the story of the movie but did not give too much away and did not spoil the ending. The beginning of the trailer showed the sadder parts of the movie. For example the protagonist said “I can’t sleep” and “there’s a hundred people that want to kill me”. Afterwards, it starts to become more intense and we see the action parts of the movie. I think the trailer was even better because they used a speech from the hero and the villain as a voice over. When I watched the movie, I was less impressed. I did not find that there was as much action and that maybe the trailer showed all of the scenes that did have action. The only part of the movie that I really liked was the ending but other than that, I thought it would have been a better movie after seeing the trailer.
I totally agree. So many movie trailer a have way to much information about the actual movie that when you watch it, it's already obvious what's going to happen.
The movie trailer that I found very funny and look really good was “Jack and Jill”. Although the trailer was excellent the movie not so much, I find Adam Sandler a very funny man but some of his movies such as this one are, in my opinion stupid. Even though it was stupid I found it very funny and I also liked that Adam Sandler played Jack the brother and Jill the sister.
The movie trailer that I got super pumped for but then it ended up being a pile of manure was Battle: Los Angeles. The trailer was packed with action, explosions, guns and aliens and was topped of with one sick song. The actual movie is a terrible concoction of an extremely slow plot and bad acting. Don’t get me wrong the movie has it’s moment but I feel like I would much rather watch the trailer for 2 hours instead. Peter Demers
"Bad Grandpa" was the worst movie I've ever seen. When I watched the trailer for "Bad Grandpa" I was so excited to see the movie. I was counting down the days until the movie came out. The trailer had every single funny part of the movie in it. There was not one surprise laugh in the entire movie. After watching the trailer so many times, when the funny parts in the movie came, I didn't laugh. That was the biggest waste of 11.50$!
I completely agree. I thought the movie was going to be hilarious because it was supposed to be similar to hangover but with a different story. All the jokes were bad apart from the small percentage of them in the trailer.
I could not think of any movies that I saw that were bad and the movie trailers were good. The only movie that I saw that was really bad was The Whale Rider. We saw that movie for our end of the year exam I think it was in grade seven and it was horrible. Nobody could understand what was happening let alone understand the characters. I never saw the trailer but the movie was so bad I think the trailer would have been the same. There is a movie that my mom and my little sister saw called Free Birds. My little sister found it okay but my mom said the jokes were really not funny and it was really boring. I saw the trailer with my mom and the movie looked really cute and funny. Even though I haven't seen a movie that was bad and the trailer was good it's bound to happen sometime.
One movie that had a great trailer but actually wasn't that good of a trailer is the movie "Where the Wils Things are". This was one of my favourite books growing up, i liked it so much my dad used to read it to me once a week. When i found out there was going to be a movie based on the book, i was ecstatic! I remeber watching the trailer and really liking it. It seemed like the movie was about a boy growing up and learning life lessons (like the book) and it looked as though it was going to be told in a whimsical and entertaining way. But don't let this trailer fool you. The whole entire movie was so dark and depressing. It was mostly about all the sad things you face growing up and the loss of innocence. Needless to say, i was very disappointed! Especially since it was my favourite childhood book. -kali catterall
I remember going to a movie with my friend Tori when I was in about 4th or 5th grade , and I remember that before the film started there was a trailer for the movie "Where the wild things are". Tori started telling me all about how it was her favorite book growing up and that she would force me to go see the movie with her. The trailer was filled with joyful music and looked like it was about a cute kid that dressed up in an animal costume that had imaginary friends that were these sort of mythical creatures. The trailer had actually gotten me excited to see the film, and when I did, I was regretted ever going! The film was cute for the first 20 minutes but after that... BOOM! War! Violence! One of the huge mythical birds arms was pulled off and I started to freak out! I guess I shouldn't spoil too much in case some people haven't seen it... but I really recommend not too.
The movie that i found not as good as the trailer was "Monster's University" i went for my brother's birthday. the reason i thought it wasn't as good as i thought i will be was one the trailer made it seem so much cooler and two i had very big expectations because when i was little i used to watch "Monster's inc." all the time. The trailer was about a dream of becoming really good a scaring people but the movie was about competition and i really wanted to see the more of the dream coming true than competition. -Lily Rebeiro
For me, the movie Safe Haven had a really good trailer but I didn’t really enjoy the movie for a couple of reasons. Safe Haven is about a girl who was being abused by the guy she was living with so she runs away, and he follows her. He then tracks her down, and then that’s where it turns creepy. The first reason I didn’t like the movie is because I am not the best with intense movies so that didn’t really help. Also it was super creepy throughout the whole movie because you never knew when that guy was going to randomly show up again. But in the movie trailer it was the complete opposite! The movie looked super good and calming, about a girl who moves away and meets this other guy that she really likes. It’s funny how you can get tricked into thinking something completely different then the reality.
One movie trailer that was way better than the movie itself was Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. The trailer had great special effects and great comedy. When I paid to watch the movie in theatres, I was very disappointed. The movie had its moments; they were in the trailer. The movie over did it with too many unnecessary special effects and some very stupid corny jokes. All in all the movie sucked.
One movie trailer that I absolutely loved was the trailer for Catching Fire. I have read the whole Hunger Games series so i was very excited to see the trailer and movies. The trailer for Catching Fire was absolutely amazing with quite a bit of detail about the movie. But I think that was the problem. The trailer gave too much away from the movie that once I saw it i already knew what was going to happen. But for what it’s worth I still enjoyed the movie just not as much as I thought I would.

It has a really good meaning, that pollution is bad and shows the future, but to me, it was really boring and I found the whole thing really predictable. The trailer made it look funny, entertaining, a bit of a love story between Wall-E and Eva, scary and adventurous. But personally, I did not find that in the movie. There were some parts that were good but most of it was just boring.
One movie that I was really excited to see after I saw the trailer is "Cabin in the Woods." I saw this trailer and it looked pretty scary and I like horror films so I was looking forward to see the movie. Watching this movie felt like some of the scary parts from the trailer were missing! There were some jumpy parts but most of the movie was boring and useless. The movie wasn't as scary as I thought it be, which disappointed me.
When I first saw the trailer for Anchorman 2, I thought it looked hilarious and I was so excited for it too come out in theaters. Unfortunately, I missed the movie when it was out so I had to wait for it to come out on DVD. My parents also wanted to see it so we all gathered on the couch with some popcorn and started watching it. It seemed okay in the beginning and we decided to give it a chance but one by one we all lost interest and started leaving the room. In the end I was the only one left in the room, asleep on the couch. The movie was a big disappointment and we all thought the humour was horrible. I wish I could tell you if the end got better but we didn't last past the first half hour!
The movie trailer i saw that looked amazing was "The secret Life of Walter Mitty". This movie had all kinds of potential but did not execute. The trailer made it seem like a crazy adventurous love story with a little bit of comedy. The movie turned out to be boring, confusing and not funny at all. I sat threw the first half or more of the movie wondering what the heck i was watching. At times i could have fallen asleep, although it did have a good ending. I thought the movie could have been much more entertaining and much better overall.Sadly the trailer set the bar to high for the movie and the movie itself could not reach it.

DeleteHave you ever seen the movie Lucy, I hope not! I saw the trailer and was in awe, it looked so cool and action packed. In the trailer there was action, love, loss and mystery, all the things that make for a great movie. To my utter disappointment, the movie was terrible! There was one pathetic love scene, multiple cliché and down right stupid fight scenes and many pointless deaths. This movie was relatively short yet it felt like the longest hour and a half of my life! This movie is so bad and such a waste of time that during the credits a group of people booed. Lucy will surly go down as one of the worst movies ever.

Also I find the movie did no justice to the novel Vampire Academy which was phenomenal, I read the whole series plus a second series based off of that one, that is how good it was.
ReplyDeleteI think a movie that had a great trailer but the movie itself was not so great was Iron Man 3. The trailer was action packed and intense and after watching it, I could not wait to see the movie. I think that this trailer explained the story of the movie but did not give too much away and did not spoil the ending. The beginning of the trailer showed the sadder parts of the movie. For example the protagonist said “I can’t sleep” and “there’s a hundred people that want to kill me”. Afterwards, it starts to become more intense and we see the action parts of the movie. I think the trailer was even better because they used a speech from the hero and the villain as a voice over. When I watched the movie, I was less impressed. I did not find that there was as much action and that maybe the trailer showed all of the scenes that did have action. The only part of the movie that I really liked was the ending but other than that, I thought it would have been a better movie after seeing the trailer.

DeleteThe movie trailer that I found very funny and look really good was “Jack and Jill”. Although the trailer was excellent the movie not so much, I find Adam Sandler a very funny man but some of his movies such as this one are, in my opinion stupid. Even though it was stupid I found it very funny and I also liked that Adam Sandler played Jack the brother and Jill the sister.
ReplyDeleteThe movie trailer that I got super pumped for but then it ended up being a pile of manure was Battle: Los Angeles. The trailer was packed with action, explosions, guns and aliens and was topped of with one sick song. The actual movie is a terrible concoction of an extremely slow plot and bad acting. Don’t get me wrong the movie has it’s moment but I feel like I would much rather watch the trailer for 2 hours instead.

"Bad Grandpa" was the worst movie I've ever seen. When I watched the trailer for "Bad Grandpa" I was so excited to see the movie. I was counting down the days until the movie came out. The trailer had every single funny part of the movie in it. There was not one surprise laugh in the entire movie. After watching the trailer so many times, when the funny parts in the movie came, I didn't laugh. That was the biggest waste of 11.50$!
ReplyDeleteI completely agree. I thought the movie was going to be hilarious because it was supposed to be similar to hangover but with a different story. All the jokes were bad apart from the small percentage of them in the trailer.

DeleteI could not think of any movies that I saw that were bad and the movie trailers were good. The only movie that I saw that was really bad was The Whale Rider. We saw that movie for our end of the year exam I think it was in grade seven and it was horrible. Nobody could understand what was happening let alone understand the characters. I never saw the trailer but the movie was so bad I think the trailer would have been the same. There is a movie that my mom and my little sister saw called Free Birds. My little sister found it okay but my mom said the jokes were really not funny and it was really boring. I saw the trailer with my mom and the movie looked really cute and funny. Even though I haven't seen a movie that was bad and the trailer was good it's bound to happen sometime.

One movie that had a great trailer but actually wasn't that good of a trailer is the movie "Where the Wils Things are". This was one of my favourite books growing up, i liked it so much my dad used to read it to me once a week. When i found out there was going to be a movie based on the book, i was ecstatic! I remeber watching the trailer and really liking it. It seemed like the movie was about a boy growing up and learning life lessons (like the book) and it looked as though it was going to be told in a whimsical and entertaining way. But don't let this trailer fool you. The whole entire movie was so dark and depressing. It was mostly about all the sad things you face growing up and the loss of innocence. Needless to say, i was very disappointed! Especially since it was my favourite childhood book. -kali catterall

DeleteI remember going to a movie with my friend Tori when I was in about 4th or 5th grade , and I remember that before the film started there was a trailer for the movie "Where the wild things are". Tori started telling me all about how it was her favorite book growing up and that she would force me to go see the movie with her. The trailer was filled with joyful music and looked like it was about a cute kid that dressed up in an animal costume that had imaginary friends that were these sort of mythical creatures. The trailer had actually gotten me excited to see the film, and when I did, I was regretted ever going! The film was cute for the first 20 minutes but after that... BOOM! War! Violence! One of the huge mythical birds arms was pulled off and I started to freak out! I guess I shouldn't spoil too much in case some people haven't seen it... but I really recommend not too.

DeleteThe movie that i found not as good as the trailer was "Monster's University" i went for my brother's birthday. the reason i thought it wasn't as good as i thought i will be was one the trailer made it seem so much cooler and two i had very big expectations because when i was little i used to watch "Monster's inc." all the time. The trailer was about a dream of becoming really good a scaring people but the movie was about competition and i really wanted to see the more of the dream coming true than competition.

For me, the movie Safe Haven had a really good trailer but I didn’t really enjoy the movie for a couple of reasons. Safe Haven is about a girl who was being abused by the guy she was living with so she runs away, and he follows her. He then tracks her down, and then that’s where it turns creepy. The first reason I didn’t like the movie is because I am not the best with intense movies so that didn’t really help. Also it was super creepy throughout the whole movie because you never knew when that guy was going to randomly show up again. But in the movie trailer it was the complete opposite! The movie looked super good and calming, about a girl who moves away and meets this other guy that she really likes. It’s funny how you can get tricked into thinking something completely different then the reality.
ReplyDeleteOne movie trailer that was way better than the movie itself was Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. The trailer had great special effects and great comedy. When I paid to watch the movie in theatres, I was very disappointed. The movie had its moments; they were in the trailer. The movie over did it with too many unnecessary special effects and some very stupid corny jokes. All in all the movie sucked.
ReplyDeleteOne movie trailer that I absolutely loved was the trailer for Catching Fire. I have read the whole Hunger Games series so i was very excited to see the trailer and movies. The trailer for Catching Fire was absolutely amazing with quite a bit of detail about the movie. But I think that was the problem. The trailer gave too much away from the movie that once I saw it i already knew what was going to happen. But for what it’s worth I still enjoyed the movie just not as much as I thought I would.

DeleteOne movie trailer that was amazing but the movie was not good was "Wall-E". It has a really good meaning, that pollution is bad and shows the future, but to me, it was really boring and I found the whole thing really predictable. The trailer made it look funny, entertaining, a bit of a love story between Wall-E and Eva, scary and adventurous. But personally, I did not find that in the movie. There were some parts that were good but most of it was just boring.
ReplyDeleteOne movie that I was really excited to see after I saw the trailer is "Cabin in the Woods." I saw this trailer and it looked pretty scary and I like horror films so I was looking forward to see the movie. Watching this movie felt like some of the scary parts from the trailer were missing! There were some jumpy parts but most of the movie was boring and useless. The movie wasn't as scary as I thought it be, which disappointed me.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first saw the trailer for Anchorman 2, I thought it looked hilarious and I was so excited for it too come out in theaters. Unfortunately, I missed the movie when it was out so I had to wait for it to come out on DVD. My parents also wanted to see it so we all gathered on the couch with some popcorn and started watching it. It seemed okay in the beginning and we decided to give it a chance but one by one we all lost interest and started leaving the room. In the end I was the only one left in the room, asleep on the couch. The movie was a big disappointment and we all thought the humour was horrible. I wish I could tell you if the end got better but we didn't last past the first half hour!

DeleteThe movie trailer i saw that looked amazing was "The secret Life of Walter Mitty". This movie had all kinds of potential but did not execute. The trailer made it seem like a crazy adventurous love story with a little bit of comedy. The movie turned out to be boring, confusing and not funny at all. I sat threw the first half or more of the movie wondering what the heck i was watching. At times i could have fallen asleep, although it did have a good ending. I thought the movie could have been much more entertaining and much better overall.Sadly the trailer set the bar to high for the movie and the movie itself could not reach it.
ReplyDeleteA movie i thought was going to be amazing but wasn't was the horror movie saw. When i first watched the trailer this year, it looked action packed, Scary and really interesting. When I watched it, it did not live up to my expectations. The movie was so boring and the effects were unrealistic. After I watched the trailer, I thought the whole concept of the film was really cool and unlike any other horror movie, but i really didn't find the movie entertaining or scary at all. They made the trailer in such a way that made me want to watch it. The scenes were all action packed and terrifying, So I naturally thought the film would be amazing. I was really disappointed when I watched the movie.
