Your ONE BLOG topic this week is FREE CHOICE! You could blog about whatever it is you want, except what you've already blogged about! You could go on a rant or you could simply blog about something important to you. Please do not blog about blogs!
I highly recommend that you go OUTSIDE the BOX! Be creative and write about something you feel important or something you would like to tell your audience.
You must remember your audience. It is not simply me (Mr. Katz) reading this blog!
If you will be ranting about a certain individual, you need to leave their name out of this. You could give them a pseudonym or simply leave their name as anonymous.
Make sure your language is appropriate. Do not go on swearing tangents.
I am going to make this blog about how much I love being the first one to comment on something. I love the feeling that the person I commented on will most likely read it because they are waiting for people to comment on it. I also love the feeling that I know that I was the first on in the whole entire world to comment on something. Obviously it is a lot more fun when it is someone who is super popular. I also find it funny when I annoy the whole community by saying, FIRST ONE TO COMMENT. It really does just feel awesome to beat everyone in the world at something. Also when I am the first person to comment on a video, I feel like I was actually part of the video. If the video goes viral then I feel like I am also included even though I am not.
ReplyDelete#FIRST ONE TO COMMENT
Oh my god Alex its funny to see what amuses you :')
DeleteThats really funny yet, once I think about it strangely true. There is a satisfaction in knowing that you are the first person to like or comment something and it does make you feel like you are a part of it.

ReplyDeleteSince this blog is free choice, I decided to rant about boys. Not one or a few in particular, I'm talking about all of them. Males have their lives made way more easy than us girls. They don't have to go through periods every month for a whole week until their 50 and having a living thing develop inside of them for nine months then painfully give birth to it. It's even the little things like taming our hair or trying to look decent for the day. But what annoys me most is that they don't understand what girls go through and they still have the guts to say that males are stronger and "better" than women. I'd like to see them try being us for one day. (Don't mean to be offensive to anyone)
ReplyDeleteGood looks don't come naturally, some guys have to do many things to look decent too.
DeleteGood blog but not true. We have different challenges to overcome, and you offended every boy in the world.
DeleteThat really hurts Alisha, and you're sadly mistaken if you think I just wake up with perfect hair because when I wake up and see my hair....ohhh boy. 95% of the time I have in the morning is dedicated to make my hair look half decent and we have other problems we have to deal with.....Saying all that you're probably right about it being harder for girls.
Delete^^ to all boys try giving birth to a child and then complain because having to take care of our hair in the morning is the least of our problems.
DeleteThis is the most accurate thing I have ever read! Go Alisha go!

For this free choice blog I have decided to keep it very simple and talk about something recent. The topic of this blog is, what I did this weekend, because it is already fresh in my mind. This weekend I went to my friend’s cottage up North, with my sister and another family who we are friends with. I left at about three o’clock after school so once I got home I really had to rush to pack (because knowing me I hadn’t started yet). Anyways the other family took my sister and I up with them and it was a long drive so we went to sleep right away. Now for Saturday, but first let me give you some back-story: This is not your average cottage. It is nicer than their house, has a trampoline, a huge projector, 5 bedrooms, 3 washrooms, a fuse ball table and to boot a fully function heated tree house decked out with a TV and 5 beds. So yeah it’s basically anyone’s dream cottage. We spent the day sledding, baking cookies, playing Wii, playing board games, watching TV and of course eating lots of good food. We did the same on Sunday and once we got back we went to go see Mockingjay part one. All in all it was a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteWow, sounds fun! BRING ME WITH YOU!
DeleteThat sounds like so much fun!!! I wish I was there. What kind of cottage has a tree house!!! That is so cool!!
DeleteToday I'm going to blog about homework. I know this is a typical rant topic but it often needs to be brought up. I feel that homework is unnecessary because we just spent the entire day doing work in school. I know teachers say that homework is important because it is meant to work on things you learn in class, but we have better things to do then work all day. Also I hate when one day you are really busy and you do all your homework except a few math questions. Then in class your teacher is like "Ok... Grace please tell me the answer for question number 10" and your thinking to yourself "OMG! are you serious the one question I did not answer is the one that you ask me!" Homework just annoys me because I believe students should have time to relax at school and maybe we would be better at learning subjects if we did not have to waste our home time and weekends on homework.

For this blog, I will blog about something close to my heart, Taylor Swift. Now, I love her but it doesn't mean that I'm oblivious to the facts. It's true Taylor Swift pretty much only sings about her past relationships but come on, admit it, you always catch yourself singing along! I admire Taylor for the fact that she can laugh at herself and 'dance as if no one is watching'. She has made so much headway in the music 'biz' with her numerous best selling albums and number one hit singles. I love how even after all the gossip and hate she ignores it all and just does her own thing. I mean really how many country pop artists do you know... I understand it if you don't like Taylor swift, she is not for everyone. As she more than once has said "haters gonna hate" but at least recognize her passion.
ReplyDeleteWhile I am not the biggest Taylor Swift fan, I do agree with you in the fact that she can shake off the negative comments and do her own thing, and I respect her for doing so.
DeleteToday in my blog I will be discussing something very dear to me and that has filled many wonderful years of my childhood, Disney movies. Disney movies are a rite of passage for children, filling our brains with imagination and dreams. When I was young, the movies were more than stories on the screen, they were adventures I got to go on with princesses, mermaids, pirates, talking animals and many more great characters. To this very day, I still own all the classics, such as Cinderella, Snow White, Peter Pan, Bambi and The Little Mermaid on VHS, and they allow me to relive my childhood on those rainy or sick days. Even though the more modern ones that have recently come out will never be as good, I’m such a big Disney fan that I go see every single on of them. Everyone needs those moments to be a carefree, happy kid again, and Disney movies allow you to kick back, relax, and relive all the happiest memories of your childhood. For these reasons, to me, Disney memories are magical and I will continue to cherish them for the rest of my life.
ReplyDeleteI decided to do my blog on one of my favourite television shows. Veronica Mars! Most people have never even heard of Veronica Mars, but it's amazing. I found it on Netflix over the summer and fell in love during the first episode. The main character, Veronica, is a teenage girl who's best friend was murdered a year ago. Her father is a private investigator, so she uses her resources to attempt at solving her friend's murder and small mysteries on the side. Even though it seems kind of fake it's actually really easy to relate to in other ways. At the beginning of the show she is a loser who no one really likes but by the end she has many friends including Mac, Logan, Wallace, Duncan and Meg.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many good shows on Netflix that nobody knows about! I found 2 really good ones, "The 4400" and "The 100" .
DeleteOMG THE 100
DeleteSince this is a free blog I am going to talk about my favorite TV show, Criminal Minds. The reason why I love it so much is because it is so suspenseful and very thrilling. It is about a team of profilers from the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) who try to catch serial killers, but there is one problem, they don’t know who it is at the beginning. They analyze each crime scene trying to find out more and more about the serial killer. Each episode usually ends with the detectives saving a victim from near death and ether killing or arresting the serial killer. My favorite episode was when they had to find a murderer that they tried to catch many years before. He was known as the Boston Ripper; he would stab the people then draw symbols on the ground around them. I liked this episode because it was very personal between one of the main characters and the serial killer.
ReplyDeleteI really love that show too! I find it sometime really gross and unrealistic but that's what makes it entertaining to watch.
DeleteFor this weeks rant I'm going to talk about stupid people. I don't mean people who aren't book smart, I mean people who aren't at all logical about anything whatsoever. Everyone has their moments, and I respect that everyone has some dumb times, but when you have those dumb times ALL the time... It starts to get annoying to the point where all I can do is walk away. These people do not think before they talk EVER! And it is so frustrating that even when you explain it to them, they still don't get it. I have these moments a lot, so when even I get frustrated, you should know your stupid, and you should probably move out of the way before i flip the table.
ReplyDeletehaha i totally agree! I hate when people just say what ever withoit filtering what they say! It gets me so mad!
DeleteSomething I find very annoying and don’t get at all is when guys wear socks with sandals and their pants low. First of all what makes them think that wearing socks with sandals looks good? The whole point of sandals is so that you don’t have to wear socks. It makes guys look very gross and lazy. Also I don’t get saggers. They wear their pants low every day showing off their boxers. I don’t care that you like to wear truck underwear because that’s for you to know and not every person that walks by you. Honestly that is very unattractive because it looks so typical. But the positive side to seeing guys wear their pants low is the fact that when they run it looks hilarious. They look like insane penguins. It’s quite a show. And here’s a tip boys, girls find those two styles really annoying and if you are trying to get a girlfriend these are the last two things you want to be doing.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree!! It looks so sloppy when you see boys wearing their pants half way down their bums.
DeleteThis week for my blog I’m going to talk about my favorite cartoon show called Phineas and Ferb. I’ve been watching this show for such a long time and I still watch it now sometimes. I have completely memorized the theme song and I always sing along to it whenever in comes on. This show is entertaining because in every single episode they do something different. I’d like to have an interesting summer like that!
ReplyDeleteFor this blog I am going to talk about my favorite TV show, Supernatural. It’s not a very well-known TV show but I really enjoy watching it. It’s about 2 brothers whose job is to hunt down evil creatures and spirits, anything supernatural really. The plot lines and characters are a little bit repetitive but I find that it’s really fun every time I watch an episode. It is sometimes creepy, but most of the time it's not. However even if it was terrifying I would still watch it as I believe it’s an awesome show.
ReplyDeleteOMG that is like the best show of life!
DeleteI absolutely love that show Jacob! I keep a bunch of the episodes on tape so I can watch them over and over again.
DeleteFor this blog I will write about my obsession over soccer. I have been playing soccer since I was five years old and at the age of seven I already was playing house league in “ les etoiles de l’est “ in laval. If you are not familiar with the levels, it starts off with non competitive house league the it goes up to A, AA, and AAA which are all competitive levels. You must try out for the competitive levels but house league is free for anyone to join. Then there are the age groups which are demonstrated with a “U” in front of the age For example U13 would be for 13 year olds. Ever since I first kicked a soccer ball I have definitely fallen in love with the sport. Today I am in AA but I played this season in U15 because i'm born in 1999. Next year I will be with the U16 kids and If i'm good enough (which I probably will be) I will get accepted into AAA! It is at times very intimidating to be playing with a bunch of people older than you but I've gotten used to it since I am one of the best midfield and defensemen players on our team. Every World cup there is a big gathering at my grandparents house and of course we all cheer for italy because they're the best and because I am italian. My grandmother will literally lock you out of her house if your not going for italy but if you do cheer for them she will give you 100$! Its a real shame that soccer isn't as big as hockey in Canada because it really is the best sport on the face of this earth.
ReplyDeleteItaly has the best team for sure! I'm definitely going to your grandmothers house when Italy plays, I hope she doesn't mind.
DeleteToday, I will be sharing a story about something that happened to my dad. My dad travels for business often, and one day before getting on the plane, he bought a big chocolate bar to contain his hunger. He got on the plane, had a bite and set it down. He was telling me about how hot it was on the plane especially because the A/C wasn’t working plus, they were circling their destination for two hours because something was going on at the airport. They finally landed and my dad was searching for the chocolate bar that he bought but he just couldn’t seem to find it. As he got up he realized that his bottom was stuck to the chair. He pulled himself off the chair and looked down at the seat only to find a melted chocolate bar spread across it. When he touched his bum, he realized that there was chocolate on his pants as well. As he walked out of the plane, (he wasn’t able to clean the pants because the chocolate wasn’t coming off), a bunch of people were staring at him and whispering. People thought that he had an accident. He was so embarrassed.
ReplyDeleteI hope that kind of thing never happens to me ...
DeleteFor this blog since it's a free of choice blog is like to talk about photography and acting. I've always loved to be the center of attention when it comes to being in front of a camera since I was a kid, and the older I got not only did I love being in front of the camera but also behind it taking photos and videos . About 1-2 years ago I bought myself a camera for 400$ and I'm still IN LOVE with it , I'll take pictures, videos and the quality is great. It's been on some vacations with me and the photos are incredible. But even for school I use it and I act in the videos and love filming and acting. I would pursue any as a career , photographer or actress. One day I hope to be an actress but if I don't make it then photography is for sure my next move.
ReplyDeleteFor this free blog I am going to talk about my favorite TV show, The Walking Dead. I really enjoy this show because it has great actors, directors and special effects I always watch the behind the scenes and see how much work they put into the zombies, the characters and the area they are in to give it a apocalyptic feel. I watch the show every time it plays live, usually I go over a friends and watch it with them. But I just really love everything about the show and I can't seem to get enough of it. I hate waiting every sunday for it to play on AMC but in the end its worth the wait. Overall I really love the show and I can't wait for the next episode! - Dennis Mayuga
ReplyDeleteFor this free blog I'm going to talk about people that forget about things that were just said. The reason why I am talking about this is because there are a bunch of people who act really "stupid". For example in one of my film study classes, we were watching a movie and something happened and my teacher paused the movie to explain some techniques that they were using. Then someone asks what the name of the technique that they were using was, when the teacher had just said it before he started explaining it. Trust me when I say, when people do this every day it gets really, really annoying.
ReplyDeleteFor this blog, I am going to talk about my favorite TV show. The 100! The show is set 97 years after nuclear Armageddon, has destroyed civilization on Earth. The only survivors left are those on the 12 international space stations in orbit. There are approximately 4,000 survivors. When they start to see there resource's disappear, they send 100 juvenile delinquent's to the Earth. There objective, is too stay alive. With the fate of the human race in their hands, they must forge a path into the unknown. This show is my favorite because of all the conflict between character's. A new episode comes out every Thursday, I never miss it.
ReplyDeleteWhen a free blog was assigned, I was delightfully pleased. I was thinking of all the possible things I could write about, but nothing was good enough. In class today, when I looked at Nikki and Audree, it hit me! Two beautiful girls like themselves, should deserve a blog. For one, Nikki has such a great sense of humor and tells funny jokes. She is also extremely sweet, and has FLAWLESS "ombre" hair, that I am secretly jealous of. On the other hand, Audree is a pleasure to talk to. I am so fond of her classy and "hipster" fashion choices and style, and her incredibly kind personality. She has beautiful eyes, and I enjoy talking to her. Although I am only in few of these girls classes, I am so lucky to make acquaintance with them. I am sure other people agree, that anyone would love to be friends with these two amazing people.
ReplyDeleteYou finally wrote one!
DeleteSince this is a free blog, I’m going to talk about someone who is very important to me in my life, one of my role models; My Brother! My brother is the oldest kid in my family and I am the youngest. He is 19 years old and soon he will be 20. My brother is extremely good at playing football, I swear he is going to make it into the NFL or CFL soon! Ever since he started playing, I’ve been to almost every one of his games. My dad calls me the good luck charm because when I’m not at the games sometimes they lose. I’ve been to so many games that I understand football too well. A lot of people in Montreal know him because of how amazing he is at football, even some of the guys in my grade knew who he was before I told them about him. He goes to a school that is an hour and a half away to and studies psychology, so he has an apartment. I really do miss him living at home because I don’t get to see him too often other than at his football games, but once his football season is over, I don’t see him as much as I wish. He is really important to me, he’s been there for me my whole life and he has never let me down, we have so many memories together whether they are good or bad. He has taught me which things in life are bad and good and sometimes I rather listen to him than listen to my mom… :’) Even I play the role as the more mature one. We give each other advice on so many things and just help each other out 24/7. He is probably the nicest person you could ever meet and he’s so honest and caring and his personality is the best. I love him to death and I couldn't ask for a more perfect brother<3
ReplyDeleteFoe this free blog, I decided to write about what happened to me, Nikki and my other friend Teresa in POP class today. So, we had a sub and we we're going into the hallway to film our project. The sub told us to take a seat but all the seats were at the computers and none at the desks. So, Nikki and I being geniuses, decided to sit on the desks because we always do that. And this was one of those decently long desks. Once we sit down, Teresa decides to sit with us and as shes getting on it, she says "watch this table break" and to our surprise, it broke! One of the table legs collapsed! Nikki and I jumped off so we don't fall over and hurt ourselves. But Teresa didn't jump and kind of just fell with the table and wanting it to look as if nothing happened. But that wasn't the case. The sub kind of got mad and wrote all our names down to show our teacher. We were fine with giving our names because we were the ones who broke it. Later on, when class was almost over, we go back to class and our sub explained to us that it was okay that we broke it because the janitors had to fix that table on multiple occasions, but we really broke it and they are throwing it out. We found it pretty funny and I don't think we will ever forget about this.
ReplyDeleteThat's hilarious! When I had Pop after you I noticed a broken table but was confused and wondered what happened.
DeleteSince this is a free blog, I have decided to talk about one of my biggest role models, my grandfather. A few years ago he was diagnosed with diabetes. Over the years he was learned to cooperate with this diagnosis but the past year has really hit him hard. Last month he was admitted to the hospital because he was having a hard time breathing. He has fought through so much and is now doing better at home. While he was at the hospital he had to start a procedure called dialysis. A dialysis is basically a procedure that flushes wastes for your blood because your kidneys aren't functioning properly. These wastes would make him very sluggish, tired and he got sick a lot. Ever since he has started fighting to become healthy again with the dialysis, have never seen him so happy. He is laughing, walking around and having fun with his life. I am so glad to have such a strong fighter in my life to look up to! Love you Poppi! <3

For this blog, I've decided to write about winter. This season is my favourite but also my least favourite. I find that I'm never satisfied with the seasons; when it is winter, I want it to be summer and when it is summer I want it to be winter. I love the winter because I like looking out the window and seeing a bed of white snow covering the ground. I also love dressing warm and drinking hot drinks and this season is the perfect time for it. I find it really pretty at night because the snow lights up the ground as well as the Christmas lights. One of the more obvious reasons why I love winter is because of the two week break. I usually tell myself that I will be productive this year and end up staying home in my pyjamas all day watching Netflix. I can’t wait for winter break to come so that I can spend more time watching Netflix all day.
ReplyDeleteWinter break is a good time for Netflix...but then there's me who watches Netflix all day in my pjs on the weekends.
DeleteFor my free blog I’m going to write about my cousin Emanuele. This summer my cousin came all the way from Italy by himself. When I first saw him I thought that we were not going to get along but boy was I wrong. Over the summer we became the best of friends despite our age difference, he’s 18 by the way. We had so many fun memories that the day he left for Italy I actually tearded up in the airport. And that’s the story of the second time I have ever cried.
ReplyDeleteSo this past Monday I was really excited because Eminem finally dropped his 15th and 15th anniversary compilation album. Monday kinda sucked because I was sick but finally getting to listen the album absolutely made my day. The album is titled Shady XV and it's a compilation album with other Detroit rappers such as Yelawolf, Slaughterhouse, everyone from D12 and so one. But as always, my favorite songs are the ones that Eminem is the lead. My favorite song on that album in particular is probably the "Lose Yourself" demo version. It's a really old completely different version of the popular song from "8 mile". In a tell all interview Eminem said that he didn't even remember ever recording it.
ReplyDeleteFor this free blog, I have decided to blog about the Christmas holidays and how they are my favorite times of the year. First of all, the Christmas break is a much needed pause from school. Leading up to the break, it is crunch time; all you are doing is studying. When the break hits, you have all the free time in the world which really feels refreshing. Second of all, I love to got o the outdoor rink (odr) during the winter. During the break, almost everyday I am out there playing hockey. Sometimes I will stay out there for 8-10 hours. The best is when if you are with friends and one of the parents goes out to Timmies and brings a big thing of hot chocolate. And finally the most important thing is family. Every break my family gets together to celebrate Christmas. It is one of the best times of the year because I get to see some of my family that I haven't seen in a while. When we get togetther, it is a blast; we play,we go to the odr, we talk, we eat and we have an overall great time.
ReplyDeleteFor this free blog, I am going to rant about ask.fm. Ask.fm is a really stupid site that in my opinion, should have never been invented. People are able to ask you anonymous questions on your s account but instead, people usually send hate. They say really mean things to people most probably because they are insecure about them selves so they bring out other peoples insecurities. But something I really don't understand is why people still have it. They constantly get hated on when none of them deserve any of it!
